The bigger the secondary market,
the costlier the uncertainty
In cross-region luxury watch trading, the cost of trust has stayed stubbornly high. These problems do not fade as the market grows — scale amplifies them.
-
Authenticity and condition
Repaired, frankenstein-assembled and after-market gem-set watches are far from rare; the same watch can be graded a full level apart by different appraisers.
-
Funds and fulfilment
In cross-border trades, the buyer fears paying first and never receiving the watch, the seller fears shipping first and never being paid — neither dares move first.
-
Hard to hold anyone accountable
With no written authentication, escrow records or sealing trail, once a dispute arises each side argues its own case and no one can step in.
Authentication by an authoritative institution
Vanbyex entrusts authentication to Guangjian Group, a Chinese state-owned enterprise. Every watch entering the flow receives 100% end-to-end non-destructive testing, performed by senior master watchmakers each with more than 8 years of experience — together they have authenticated over 100,000 watches, covering nearly every mainstream brand and rare vintage piece.
Leveraging Guangjian Group’s state-owned-enterprise credentials, watches that clear initial authentication go through a standardised “three inspections, two archivals” process, and are issued an official report with a unique serial number — traceable online, judicially admissible, with all imagery and data permanently archived in the cloud.
Money never reaches the seller,
the watch never reaches the buyer
Funds move through a third-party supervised account, goods through a third-party escrow warehouse. Before the buyer confirms, nobody can touch the money; before the seller ships, nobody gets the watch.
Buyer pays into escrow
Funds enter a compliant supervised account, strictly segregated from platform funds.
Funds frozen pending delivery
Funds stay frozen; neither party can move them unilaterally.
Buyer confirms receipt
The buyer confirms once the watch matches the seal, certificate and condition.
T+N release to seller
After the service fee, the balance is remitted to the seller within agreed working days.
Seller ships to warehouse
The watch goes to a designated Vanbyex warehouse, unboxed on video and seal-checked.
Certificate vs. watch
The serial is checked against the certificate; buyers can review photos and video.
Insured secure dispatch
Packed at the warehouse and shipped via insured cross-border logistics — tracked and valued.
Signed and archived
The receipt, certificate and fund trail are archived into one complete file.
Any failed step rolls back the same way it came
If authentication is doubtful, the watch returns to the seller and funds to the buyer; if the buyer does not confirm, funds stay frozen. There is no way to lose both.
No self-inventory, no spread
Vanbyex runs a pure asset-light matching model, earning from service fees rather than the buy-sell spread, so it has no incentive to squeeze either side.
We do not promise “zero risk” —
we promise every link can be seen.
The laboratory data of the authoritative institution, the craft judgement of the authentication team, the fund trail of the escrow bank, and the sealed video of the warehouse — put these four together and you get what global watch trading was always meant to be.
